Anyone?

I'm curious, have any of you heard of someone else who was sent home after a fruitless first appointment and is waiting to return to Ukraine for a second one? Other than our friends the Reeds and us, I have not been able to find anyone else in this situation. Yet, we were told at the SDA that over 100 people were in line ahead of us to be called back for a second appointment. I realize this includes hopeful adopters from other countries as well, but I have my doubts that the list is really that long. Let us know what you know!

I just read another blog that you already left a comment on. So now that makes 2 families. Hopefully, this next visit will prove more fruitful.

At our appointment with the SDA they told us there were 125 families waiting for a second appointment. They did not indicate what countries this included, but I assume all international.
However, that same figure has apparently been told to families who were here in late November and December, so who knows if it is accurate. If we hear more, we'll pass on the info

Gina,
Responding to your question on our blog about internet access. We are using a USB Modem I got from another family which uses the PeopleNet internet service (cable?). Anyway, it's working great here in Kiev and they had no problem in their region. I'll have to see if PeopleNet has coverage in Mariupol. My translator doesn't think so. For now, I've basically got high speed interent from the comfort of my apartment which is a GREAT connecting point to home.
I'll let you know how it works for us in region. If it does and you're interested in it when you travel, I can sell it for the same price I bought it from the other family.

I just wanted to answer your question from my blog... Yes, I received the English/Russian picture dictionary & I think that it is going to be perfect! It is relatively small & a paperback, so we will be able to stash it in whatever bag we have with us. And it is full of pictures of every day items, people, places, activities, etc... Anything you could think of is probably in this book! I highly recomend it!!

Hi there! I just wanted to come by and say Hi! and thank you for following our adoption journey to find Maddie. We had our SDA appointments on the same day! Our first appointment ended up being fruitless as well, we just didn't know it at the time. Later on when we realized we needed a second appointment we were told we would be 135th in line. If you go back and read our archives you'll see how we handled it. Thankfully the gamble paid off. We'll be praying for that second apointment to come through for you soon!
